I’m BACK… with my MFA!

Posted on 06/13/201506/13/2015 by Conrad

SFSUGraduation

After three years of Grad School at San Francisco State University, I finally graduated with an MFA in Playwriting! Above I’m pictured with the 2 of the people from my cohort, Nara and Patricia, amazing writers too.

I know that it’s been forever since my last post but I can say for certain that I’m back. And not only that, I’ve returned to the blogosphere with a vengence more gusto! If I didn’t then I’ve surely wasted hella money on this new website.

Coming back, I hope to add the following:

  • Photos of my productions
  • Photos of the different playbills, flyers, marketing material, etc.
  • ALL of my scripts!
  • More thoughts on playwriting!

I’m also planning to write a lot, hopefully daily, about exactly what I plan to do with my degree. I have a couple of projects lined up, but there’s so much room to grow and learn. In all honesty, this truly feels like the beginning of my journey as a playwright… and I’m scared. The only thing the MFA proves is that I had the time, the “money”, and the drive to do everything I can to be considered a playwright to MYSELF. The degree doesn’t mean that I’ve “made it” by any stretch of the imagination. To the contrary, I think it has placed a tremendous amount of pressure on me to BE a playwright. I can’t use the hobby excuse no longer. And since my FB Friends have liked the fact that I graduated, it wouldn’t be a stretch of the imagination NOT TO EXPECT that I stop writing plays.

Cheers!
